How do you teach a bunnyhop?
« on: October 22, 2006, 11:33 AM »
Ok simple eh?? well lets hear it. Ive been coaching and its harder than it sounds. You have to imagine that your teaching it to some kids who havent a clue.

Go have a go explain it. In plain simple easy to understand english.

The simple things can be the hardest things to break down.

American or English bunnyhops?

looking forward to the feedback..Mike

I used to teach these in Greece o mtbers.
first teach them to get their front wheel over something small ( in our case a piece of hose pipe), then get them to roll over it and learn to lift their rear wheel by pushing back on the pedals with your toes down, then get them to do it all together and ta da!!! English bunnyhop  :daumenhoch:
We made a Hop-o-meter out of two poles with dowls in it about every inch and a cane spanning the gap and then if they hit it it didnt matter
 :) DINGO :)

I don't think there is a 'teachable' technique, doesn't everyone learn it the hard way? practice, practice, practice!

never thought about it, you just watch someone else and do it, not sure if it's 6th sense, instinct or what. ::)

A baby just learns to walk, you don't tell it what to do, they just copy....same principle really !?

Harris' explaination just about explains it if it can be written down...good question though!
