Removing stickers without damage-any ideas?
« on: October 15, 2006, 05:34 PM »
Does anyone have any ideas how to remove 20 year old stickers from a bike without damaging them? Hair dryer, hot soapy water?? Ideally I need to remove them so I can get the originals scanned in and new stickers made for my E.T.- thanks!

Sharp stanley knife blade to lift the edge then use lighter fluid which disolves the adhesive then slowly lift the decal whist applying more fluid. It stinks, makes your fingers white and takes ages but it works, I did it with my Firebird frame and forks

Thanks guys for your help, sticker sets for the ET seem to be pretty rare so will attempt removal and get some printed up for anyone else who needs them!

Cool, will try PK Radman as my first port of call. My frame looks just like yours! Congratulations on your restoration!
