could be a ammaco built mongoose
as the gusset is n't the same as the US built gooses
theres one hanging in OT's just like it - except theirs is NOS

or could just be some old goose stickers on some thing else

There is no serial # as such just a few randon digit's stamped

S5 is stamped and they are next to each other, then about an inch away on the BB, but not in line with the S5 there is also an 0 stamped in.

can't see them building gusset models into 85

84 maybe at a push

the serial number holds no clues
"S5" "S50" ??

i have a wire wheel model at home & will check that at
see if theres any other stamps on it
cheers Kev

Was that frame the one from the full bike that had the Mongoose number plate with it that was on ebay a few months back. The seller was claiming it was a goose but it definitely wasn't. That bike was located in Sheffield so the S50 could be a Sheffield postcode?

My mate bought this bike from a kid riding it about the street in essex for £25, the kid had had it since in his family since new and it has the original bike shop sticker on it which was a shop in Benfleet essex(Not Rad City though, Pritchards). So as far as I can tell it's lived it's whole life in Essex.

It still had the mongoose seat, super heavy unknown make spoke wheels and MX 900 calipers.

The bloke who bought it still has them, along with all the other parts. He's going to re-build it for his son.

I've got the F&F's to get them powder coated for him and just thought I'd try and find out exactley what it was 1st

It does look different to that gusset as the lower part is longer than the top, if that makes sense.

The Sheriff's is in town, just sent me pics of the frame he bought from SpicyBob & apart from the stickers it looks exactly the same. So will go with the fact that's it's an early 80's Ammaco built goose.

Cheers for all the input fellas
