is there a way to tell the original from a repo

I seem to recall something about the underside having a recess where the shaft joins the head on the genuine article, but not on the repros. I could be wrong though

I think it's a recess where the bolt goes in, not being there on the repro.

The bolts that hold the top cap on a Hutch stem are different to a Tuf-neck (I've tried them from two different tuf-neck stems and niether are correct).
