I think thats Dave Young,  Chris's dad.

The lad in the light blue top is a true Rom legend also,  Pikey Paul Davis.  Still rides occasionally and can still bunnyhop 35+ inches whenever he wants.....

The king of the Rom swap scene as I recall   :)

I swopped f/f for a PK Ripper , but I think it was a kuwie. Then when I found the PK shit to ride, and cracked it, pikey Paul swopped it for me with someone at Rom for a chrome T/A, in fact I think it may have been the one in the pic, or looking at the forks purhaps I swopped the Gen 1 for the T/A , fooked if I can remember now  :idiot2:

Yeah, it was the bike shop that I got my first bmx from, and they helped me out a bit bitd when my Race Inc broke. They are still there, although called Welling Cycles now, and it`s the same family that run it. Unfortunatly it only sells generic type bmx`s now, but they still know how to build a wheel ect.  :daumenhoch:

Absolute classic...the original bone-air - it's pics like these that got me into riding skateparks...best buzz in town.

Talking of Errol, is Errol on this forum? I need to thank him......

I lost my GT with Flight cranks at Westway race track. This kid started out with usual..."let me try out those grips man, they feel sweet, let me try those pedals man, ah so grippy, let me go one time round the track...come on man". I was just a nipper....the bike was gone. Charlie Reynolds was there and he rode off after the theif but never returned, I think he was part of the plot. Errol helped me get it back though. Errol a good man

Hey Steve - really? Yeah, I have black hair and freckles, I was really small back then...what a trip. Do you know how Errol was able to get it back? It showed up like a week later at Shepards Bush police station and I had heard Errol was the man responsible for getting it back.

Westway was a great track but notorious for a good bike nicking and a kick in  :knuppel2:

I remeber they had a quater pipe and that was my first time riding a one, felt good to get close to the lip with a hip hanger. Then go over to meanwhile 1 and rigde the concrete bowl with the wooden extention - sweet memories man.

Steve - do you know Steve Baldry aka Crazy Legs? He's a really good mate of mine that raced a lot back then. He lives our here in LA, he's got 3 dustbin lids. Great bloke.

Steve - I wish I could have seen my face, devistated and gutted. I came from the Cheam, Surrey area. My dad lives in Ca and got me some flight cranks that year, yeah, it was too tempting for the old bon eshakers not to take notice, easy pickings cause I was 4' 3" and tiny.

Very cool.
