Can someone explain this weird upside down
« on: October 01, 2006, 10:02 PM »
brake set up please.  My CW has the setup on the forks where the cable runs through the stem bolt, down the leg and through the caliper from the bottom up.  I'm presuming you need a special caliper etc.  Can somone run through the setup for me please.

Thanks
Andy

you need to swap the positions of the fixing bolt and the adjuster normally the adjuster is on the top part of the caliper and the fixing bolt is on the bottom you need to swap them over, you might not want to do this on your nos black dc mx1000s though or theyll be worth fook all (though we all did it BITD) you can get other calipers that are shipped that way dia compe fs 8.... something or other up to you , if its for a rider use an ACS BOA caliper on the front cheap and easy to flip and works like fook downside uglier than jane goodie on a bad hair day and they are approaching mid school , i love them on the front they work great even on tuffs

I just did it with an MX1000, all you do is unbolt the quick release and adjuster, leave the mounting posts in place and just swap the bits around, mine took 5 mins, I will take a pic if you want..LMK

Just unbolt it??  I thought it was some kind of rivet, does that mean they are replacable?
