Well, it’s New Year’s Eve over here and it’s raining again, so no riding for me today. I was hoping to escape the crappy weather this past week but it didn’t happen, so here’s my end-of-year wrap-up on this 2024 race blog.
This year I made it to 16 races in three countries:-
11 races in Japan at Joetsu (3), Kishiwada (1) & Oizumi (7);
3 races in the USA at County Line, Mile High & Dacono;
2 races in Canada at Vernon and Kamloops.
That’s the largest yearly total to date and with my five outings in North America, 2024 has to go down as my biggest and best BMX year thus far. I would like to build on that next year, with a few ideas for more overseas racing floating around the ether. Much will depend on money and work but I’d definitely like to go somewhere. Also high on the wish-list is more pump track action. Another track has just opened a few hours away, which makes it the nearest one to me, so I plan to check that out asap, as well as some of the other Japanese tracks in 2025.
Bike-wise, I’m still mulling over whether to race the Redline or the GT, so will keep playing around with the former in the short term to see whether it becomes the long-term weapon of choice. Whatever happens, I’ll continue to keep the RADBMX flag flying in Japan during ‘25!
