Kings_bmxstore. Scammer?
« on: August 05, 2023, 06:52 PM »
Hi everyone. I was on instagram last night, 4th of August and I liked a post by kings_bmxsrore  in the US. After that he sent me a message asking how I am, so we got chatting. Everything seemed legitimate so I said to him to advertise his bikes on here. Later on the conversation started going south. He was trying desperately to sell me a bike, he offered 40% off the price and the wording was like that of an Indian call centre. Don't know if anyone has had dealings with him, but be careful, I'm pretty sure it's a scam. He does seem to know a bit about bmx but I don't think it's for real

Be very careful. Scammers now have new methods.

A few days ago a guy on the BMX museum posted to say that some guy had shown interest in a Mongoose frame he had for sale. However, it was for his son and he asked to put his son's name in the proof pics. Like so.

He then vanished. I would imagine he was using a fake account on FB, as someone with that name who then went on to send his buyer those pics in order to get the money out of him. And I bet he succeeded too, sadly.

Thankfully for me all of my stuff comes from knowns. Either Ebay, or through groups where I personally know and have met these people (and most importantly know where to find them if I ever had to).

But do be aware that any ideas people get for proving people have stuff for sale can also be manipulated and turned around by the scammer. Who will outthink you, and try to outsmart you. And that evolves, as scamming does.

Had a look on Insta
Looks shady as fook

Unless he has a house with 15 different garages all with different designs
And different gardens, all with different types of fence etc etc

Bet he?d struggle to get a group pic with all his stock together :teef:
