Hi all.

What RIT DYE or DYLON is the correct colour please and also how much to buy and how much salt?

Been a long time since i've dyed any tuffs!

Many years since I too dyed tuffs but was it not Dylon Golden yellow that was used? think its well difficult to find now and not sure about the rit dye alternative  ???  I think I followed a guide on here Matt but it was a long time ago sorry mate  :daumenhoch:

I strongly advise against dyeing unless you absolutely have to. Best way to go about it is sandpaper and elbow grease. It's only the surface that has oxidised.

However If you absolutely must then you want Rit synthetic. Noting the synthetic bit. It's designed to hold to nylon and plastic rather than relying on absorption.

I did a set of blue tuffs a couple of years ago..
Spent days with razor blade,( they were bad nic) and 1200 grit wet n dry.
Came up decent, but left them in dylon dye for over 3 days.
Was really pleased...shit load of work nothing nice ever comes easy.

One is so faded from the sun mate, they need a re-dye. I will look into Rit Synthetic.  :daumenhoch:

Cheers mate, still enjoying it, got about 5 builds on the go.. but just very busy with work and life, its difficult to get them finished!
