I've been watching Chaz ride for years. Ever since she became part of Bas's Hastings crew. Then she kinda vanished from the radar. I think she was injured. I will admit I was just not ready for that run of hers. Jesus.C... For years of being beaten by Hannah Roberts she just silenced her. Hannah literally had nothing left to give and surrendered.
Just incredible stuff, I am so proud of her !
And Brooksy? what can I say? *THE* nicest kid you will ever meet. Met him down at Southsea a few times now, such a lovely kid. Again I will be honest here, I didn't think he was going to place. Especially not up against Logan Martin. But he shut me right up with that run. Just simply incredible stuff.
Big shout out to Effraim. He's a real hero. Has dedicated his entire life to the sport and kids just like Declan and keeping them off the streets. A real legend (and Jamie Bestwick? absolutely no words).

Amazing few days for Britain and BMX? I saw one person on twitter describe it as our new national sport! Most of today's papers have Charlotte Worthington on the front page. Who'd have ever thought we'd see that?
Nearly 40 years ago my friends and I stood in front of numerous parish councils in our area, asking for permission to build a BMX Track. One line we always used was 'One day this will be an Olympic sport'. I'm not sure where that line came from, I guess we read it in one of the magazines of the time. That first happened in 2008 but it's great to see Freestyle now in the Olympics. Judging by social media, I think the general public have been blow away by what is possible on a bike.
Let's hope we see more kids on BMX after this. I still ride a little when I can, mostly on my son's bike as my DP is too valuable to throw around.
