Right tore it down and bagged and labelled everything.
Started repair.
And yes that is a lot of filler. It takes 24 hours to harden, and I don't want to have to get annoyed and put more on. Don't fear, I have one of these it won't last long

Cheers man. I'm still not sure which seat I will use.
It's between those two. I suppose I will have to try both on it once it's done.

Parts in.
The stem isn't exactly the same as the one in the picture. That said I am happy about that, as I think it looks better. It has white writing on a black stem.

Fixodent. Did it by hand in the end. Probably because I knew there wasn't going to be much else to do today.
Then I made sure how the cranks needed to be fitted to save me having to keep smacking them in and out on a freshly painted frame.
Then fitted the stem to the bars.

Didn't really like the Haro sprocket on with the pedals. So I took it off and swapped it with the 24/7 Industries bash sprocket from the Ruben. Same (28T).
Murder cranks !

OK so I was in a bit of a argument with myself for quite a while there.
"I don't want a front brake. But that means the fork will look like crap with those bosses. I don't want to pay ?150+ for a good set of chrome forks without lugs".
"I want a gyro, as bikes with both brakes and no gyro look a bit weird, but I don't want to use the nasty steel gyro from the Mirra and I need tabs for the frame". I then spent two days looking at good gyros. They are very hard to find now, and all ?50 or so.
The annoying thing is I have two on other bikes I could switch. However, one is gold (Stolen Satellite) and one is red (Snafu Mobeus). I wouldn't even dare try and strip them.
In the end I came up with a plan. Switch the old school looking Hombre onto my Ruben and put a Springfield up front. I went to Source and found this for 25 quid. Which almost seemed cheap, given the rest were all 45 and 50.
I also needed these.
And I grabbed two of these whilst I was at it.
So aye, it will be running both brakes but it will have a gyro so it won't look weird. Of course I need to do all of that before I paint the frame too, so it was now or never.

Really, really didn't want a 990 fork. Don't want a front brake, don't want to pay 150 quid for chrome fork with no lugs. Didn't really want chrome on the front end really.
Looked at some black stuff, then some white stuff, then ordered this.

Happy Sunday. Last night I had a white Evo II in my cart, S&M speedball whitewalls and some gyro cables. Then I thought about it a bit. ?73 for tyres that are only 2.1. I wanted the 2.4 but they are OOS. The brake doesn't look like it would clear a 2.4 either, even if I could get some.
I am going to try and paint the Mission brake. Mostly because I know it works perfectly. If it doesn't work out I will change it, maybe for a Kink Desist (expensive) but it's the same brake, in black, in CNC.

As Ritchie Valens once said "How about a little bit of rattlesnake?"
"Oh great some Taiwanese dick head put the sticker on upside down"
Me - silence. It actually freaked me out.

Aye popcorn indeed. Now I'm left with all of the Haro I didn't sell
That said because it's all new gear I may try and squeeze in my 2hip as a complete. Will need some more loft boarding though

And remember. Measure once, buy twice. Or something like that.
Upon hearing the news that S&M was up for sale I decided to get more S&M parts. Given it will probably be bought out by some huge corporate company, shipped off to Taiwan and then screwed in the bum.

Little bit disappointed with the finish. It's very chalky (I would imagine because it is white). So parts are pretty dry. That said it was all I could do, so I am not going to lose sleep over it. Such are the joys of back yard painting with acrylics.
Chain arrived too.

Took a slight risk by taking a tack cloth to it. Glad I did, as it removed a whole shit ton of over spray that hadn't hardened to the frame yet. The worst patch is the top tube, but the decals cover that any way. Very happy. I always get self doubt after a paint job.

Messed up the big decal so I had to repaint the top tube. It's seriously the worst paint I have ever used.
Still needs touching up in areas where it's too thin. Think sprayable chalk. Horrible shit.
