« on: March 02, 2021, 10:19 PM »
Let's see what you have for March 2021: daumenhoch:

- Please post a full build spec for your entry.
- You may post a maximum of 4 pictures of your bike ( no tiled images - 4 individual pictures )
- You MUST still own the bike you enter.
- Any entrant found 'canvassing' for votes or other forums/social media sites will have their bike removed.
- You do not need to have finished this month. As long as it has not been in BOTM before you can enter.
- All entries must be in before the 1st of the following month or they will be removed.

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. Miss you loads Dad

So, after lurking on here for a good few years with the odd post and PM, I now finally have a build to show.  This is my second Trickstar build, and this time I have got it almost exactly as I want it barring some very minor things which niggle me.  I'm 99% certain all parts are era correct early-mid 80's barring inner tubes and valve kaps:

Almost all of the parts for this build were sourced through RAD FB and website members, the grips were the last piece of the jigsaw and I bought them early December last year from a BMXer in Fort Lauderdale, they slowly made their way to me with a little help from MrD  ;)  and were fitted last week:

Frame & Forks: 1984 USA Hutch Trickstar with Long peg forks (re-sprayed by SBD around 2012)
Bars: Hutch Mike Dominguez
Stem: Hutch Western H Freestyle
Flex Fighter: Hutch 2 in 1
Headset: Tange Alloy 125
Grips: Oakley B1B
Seat Post: Hutch Layback
Clamp: Polished Chrome Hutch
Seat: 1983 Kashimax + KSM Guts
Brakes: Tech 3 Levers and MX1000 dated all 1984
Cables: Dia Compe 1984
Chainwheel: Redline Bubble Font
Cranks: Redline 401 Flight 180 Full Wrap, Double Dimple Bottom Bracket
Chain: Chrome Izumi
Pedals: Hutch OG Beartrap + Race Cages
Wheels: Skyway Red Alloy Hub
Tyres: Panaracer 1984

Hope you like it :)

Ooooh, that Trick star is GORGEOUS! The grips are repro's, originals don't have the hole....which is why people often use crud plugs to hide the fact!!  :daumenhoch:

Thanks very much, that is appreciated :)  although I do disagree with the above having owned the re-issue B1B's which show 2010 around the end hole.  These came NOS in the original 80's box, have a look through the museum reference pics for these and you will see the 80's grips did indeed have the hole.

Seeing your number of posts on here, i'd imagine your BMX knowledge in general is far superior to mine though so happy to be corrected if I am wrong, although actually I won't be happy as I spent a long time looking for these and paid a lot for them lol   :tickedoff: ;D

i could always be wrong!!! Although i was quite sure as i wouldn't of posted....i am sure someone else will be able to answer and i really wasn't trying to take anything away from the build...the candy red and blue Trick stars have always been my favourite! and yours is executed to perfection  :daumenhoch:

Spot on. Best month in ages. Funny though, I have a clear favourite and all my three votes already. Unless something drops in last minute!!

Some super nice builds this month. Nice to see.

I may be able to enter one this month if I'm allowed. It's had a few changes but may not be eligible.
