Has anyone actually seen the Holeshot frame, to know if it could potentially be up for sale? I vaguely remember seeing some pics of Andy's of tubs of bike bits, but don't recall any frames other than the ones he owned himself.

There's no evidence to suggest that this frame still exists. Neil could have binned it leaving just the forks behind.

I'm not sure Andy or Dave would be the type of blokes to split them up and let's face it, it's pointless having one if you don't have the other imho.

So why don't somebody ask him on the Rad Faceache site then? then people will know  :daumenhoch:

If you're really that bothered, why don't you ask him yourself?

Nobody on this forum would have won it anyway, it would have ended up in Essex, for sure.

There is no frame.

It has been asked.

At a guess, I?d probably say that legit bids were submitted by people that wanted to secure the forks thinking that the frame would be along soon and since it has transpired that there is no frame, retracted their bids.

Yep good point, I miss a bit not being on F/B I guess...I can live with that...

The ARX forks just went for 360

Fair play but I could find a lot better things to spend 360 quid on

I'd rather the OG Landing Gears that went for 410 yesterday, but I still wouldn't pay that!

It's a lot of money to spend on anything that's not essential, especially something that in a matter of time will be pretty worthless. Let's be honest, OSBMX could be classed as a niche hobby, and Andy/Neil's parts are only worth anything to us and by us, I mean our generation that remember them from the golden era of BMX Beat and Kellogg's etc. Even the truest of collectors that are slinging cash at these parts must have an area in their brains that is telling them that when their kids find them in a box in the garage in years to come, they will basically just have scrap value.

A nice bit of history, as is all of his stuff, but only for the serious collector in my opinion.

From Andy's perspective, it's nicer to give something back to his fans and I guess the cash will be nice for him, better than sitting in his folks? loft I guess.

The plate though, already doing well, but not worth what it's already stood at, not without the decals.

Realistically, what would you do with that plate, if you were the one with the winning bid. Frame it? Restore it? Put it on your TAP Ruff rep?

I've seen some amazing Ruffell replica builds over the years, a chap called Paul had one at MK18, an amazing bike with all the correct parts that Andy used. Say it was you that had built an exact replica and you wanted the plate to go with it, the original plate just ain't going to look right on a fully restored bike. And, if you wanted it to get the decals made and applied to it, that's going to look odd too, unless they're carefully aged.

Great result for Andy though, I don't suppose anyone expected even the plate to do this well.
