1979 mongoose team minigoose [FINISHED]

OK so she's finally done 

Originally bought a 1979 team minigoose in bare nickel from Warren Eales 9 years ago with the intention of doing it candy red to go with my candy blue full size team and collected the bits over the years..... and before I'd gotten around to getting it candied........ 6 years later 
.....fellow radster Steve P was selling his already red candied Team minigoose frame so I said fook it and bought that one ! (got something interesting planned for the other team frame now though).

So there the redy candy frame sat with all the bits (some resto still required) for another 3 years until the other month when I decided to get some of these loooooong ass projects back on the go....

So I'd always been in love with the 2 Team builds in the 1979/80 mongoose catalogue and did my blue candy full size team in 2011 you can see that thread in the link below :

So I just had to do the mini in red......


1979 Team Minigoose frame and Team forks re-candied red
Araya 7c re-anodised rims with NOS Shimano casette hubs
NOS Hwa Fong snakebelly tyres (not the most desireable but they are OG old rubber and match the ones on my full size team)
NOS Shimano Dura Ace cranks
NOS MKS BM-1 pedals (hard to find these puppies)
NOS Oakley 2 grips (yep them ones)
Mongoose gold stem
Mongoose headset
Mongoose seat clamp
Minigoose alloy bars re-anodised
Survivor alloy seat-post
Restored Shimano Tourney brake set with NOS Shimano clips, cables, ferrules and blocks.
Restored mongoose kashimax suede Team seat

Wow !!!  Stunning build John , probably one of the nicest mini's ive seen 

Attention to detail is spot on as per usual but then again I wouldn't expect anything less from the Goose master 

Looks awesome next to its big brother too 



Cant believe you got a new fence though  ....... loved taking the piss out of the old one !!
