Struggling to fit bottom bracket cups

Could anyone tell me if there s different size bottom bracket cups . I'm really struggling to get them in . It's as though there to big to go in and I dont want to do any damage . The frames an 84 torker 280x . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure it would be a standard Tange/Tioga American Bottom Bracket. I don't know the size of cups but all, if not most are standard.

Could someone else confirm if this is the correct one! This is for a One Piece Crank, or are you fitting a Three Piece?

I have normally pressed them in with a long metal rod with a block of wood on each end. Do one at a time though.

Some can tight. I use vice and slowly increase the pressure making sure they’re square to the frame at every twist

Yes it's a one piece . Iv never known there to be different size cups . Maybe it's just me being to cautious

If it’s recently been painted or powdered the bottom bracket shell could possibly need reeming out. Just a thought though.

Cups in the freezer overnight helps.

I can confirm Torker 280 is American BB and came with Tange bitd.

Tange Seike BB220ST as posted earlier is indeed correct fitment.

Thanks for replies chaps . The frame was masked up before paint so isn't paint . Think I'm going to take it to Alan's and get them pressed in. The headset cups were hard work also . Cheers again

Cups can be a pain in the arse mate..... I've made presses and shit over the years that have worked fine with one frame and then not with another..... like the lads have said.... best plan at the end of the day is to just twat'em

Yep just twat-um! square on  never seen a a frame twang! apart no matter how hard I smacked it!
