Quad build complete
« on: April 22, 2019, 08:27 PM »
My second build after the Hutch Judge.  I bought an almost complete bike about 3 years ago from Harvey Mark Moon and made a number of changes to it over time but was never really happy with it.  The Quad is on my most wanted bikes list and I liked it in yellow but I really wanted it to be either Black or pale blue.

I had an Alloy Ripper to build which I was collecting gold parts for but sold it and decided to change pretty much all the parts on the quad.

I took the frame and forks to Dan to get it painted and he did a fantastic job and ordered the decals in Gold from Del.

I took some OG Hutch Bear Traps to Mark Smith along with the UKAI hoops which I bought from Andy Marr, one of my favourite part of the build was when Mark sent me photos of his work.  I then swapped my Blue Bullseye Hubs with some red and Blue Bulls eye Hubs from Harvey Mark Moon as he wanted Blue and then sent them to Mark Ralph at MCR creations so he could turn then into Gold Bulls eye and he did an amazing job.  I managed to get some 16mm Gold nipples from Germany and the parts went to Dan to build the wheels and he did a great job as always.

I am not a huge fan of redline bubbles so I got a power disc and an OG Suntour Chainwheel and bolts to go with my 401 cranks

Ian MacArthur sold me a TufNeck 2000 three bolt stem as well as some SE Big Boy Bars and the 84 dated brake set up, all absolutely perfect.  Ash Kam sold me an 84 dated rear cable in Brown to match the forks.

The Kashimax was NOS when I originally bought it for the quad as well as the Hutch Seat post.  I got hold of some NOS Comp3’s as well as a NOS Gold Izumi chain.  Nick Wilson sold me the pad, I want a full set but I quite like being able to see the stem.

Once again I found it amazing how much help you get when looking for parts and I can not thank individuals enough.  I am not 100% on the chain wheel but I love the colour and I do prefer it over the bubble.  All in all though I am very happy with it, but please be gentle with me.
