They are still out there
« on: March 03, 2019, 01:01 PM »
It mad to think after many years these are still out there..
My mate had one of these , was a spoilt guy too, always had latest games Atari games ,zx spectrum etc..
Of topic ..
One mate around 1981 , his dad use to service and deliver the old full stand arcade games for pubs etc.
We use to play all the latest games in the hallway of his house, asteroids, defenders, dig bug etc.. all with super high scores.
He would play Pac-Man for hours , each time you cleared a game you would collect a item at the bottom right of the screen.
It would be fruit , then cakes , then captain medals upwards. He would stop when the bottom was full  ::)

A NOS in the box for 35 yrs..
But starting bid is £1300

That’s one of the nicer Burner models imho. That’s a lovely find too, not sure I’d pay that for it though, but I expect someone will.

Nowadays we all know they was shite , but , the colours , decal design , parts used was always spot on .
Totally agree they got it spot on with the night burner, but the ultra burner was the one I always loved and was lucky enough to have one back then.

If money was no object I’d press buy it now and build it and enjoy it!
I couldn’t spend that much to keep something in wrapping..
I love my carpet queens but I get to see them and enjoy them ...
I’ve been offered nos stuff before but it’s the usual crazy prices that have stopped me from owning stuff like this ...

If you look at my picture/avatar thing the bmx I'm on is a mk1 night burner. My 1st bmx, Christmas 1984.
I got the tingles when I saw this on ebay.
My 1st bmx, the one that started it all, my 1st love. Would I pay £1300+ for one of my grail bike.............

If I won the euro🙏🤞
😜🔫 i may look like I'm listening to ya,

Hi fellas. I’m a newbie, fantastic site by the way!
It’s my NOS Night Burner on the bay. I’ve always been a burner guy
I’m unashamed to say. I paid a whole lot more than that for it when I bought it,
but I figured the amount to buy a base bike,  and fully restore it,with it being chrome plate, superchrome,
Annoed parts, sourcing NOS components blah blah blah then it’d be up there! Plus , just getting
your hands on a NOS of whatever your bag is, it seemed too good an opportunity.
I’ve never been able to bring myself to fully unwrap it (saddo) just because it’s been
sat like that all those years!

I got it from an eBay seller, well known in burner circles for having sold a few of them over the years.
I went to pick it up personally, basically his relatives (aunt and uncle if I remember right) had lived in their
long closed down shop, with a load of surplus stock just sat in the store room! Bikes/toys etc and over many years he’s
gradually been selling it off.
I know it’s a lot of money to lay out , but I won’t be too disappointed if it doesn’t shift!

Welcome to  :radbmxsmilie: mate!

Thanks for coming on here to tell us all about it. I always thought those quality stickers were from SR for the stems as I've only ever seen them stuck to the top of the stems. You live and learn!

As with a lot of people, if I had the money and somewhere to keep it safe I'd have it. It's a belter  :smitten:

Amazing that these kinda things are still out there, never been used! Wonder what other bikes/toys etc were in that shop? Randomly saw a 'Sretch Hulk' on eBay for £3.500. I had one back in the 80's, would've ended up in the bin!  :crybaby:

Cheers for the welcome  :)
Pretty sure when it came to the bikes left, they were all Raleigh. He’d sold Burners, think he said there was a Grifter and bomber left at that time.In fact on eBay at the mo there’s a NOS Raleigh ‘commando’ junior bike that I’m sure originated from said shop.
Toy wise I’ve seen him sell Transformer stuff, stretch Armstrong’s, GI Joe , mask etc etc . What an Aladdin’s cave!

In fact- talking to you guys about it, has made me think twice about selling , whilst there’s no interest I’m ending the auction for the time being! I was selling for personal circs, but I’ll find another way!

Yep that’s him.  That road runner, he just can’t seem to shift it! I realise it’s not exactly a sought after bike, but a few hundred quid for a boxed ‘70’s bike you’d think it’d fit in to some sort of collection?
Even Raleigh to have on display at a factory or something.
