1983 Torker 280x the bike is stripped down for a full clean and a bit of detailing.  It will look the same when reassembled,  if this isn't allowed then ignore this post. I've entered as there are no entries at the moment and I'd like to support the forum topic if I can.

Bike of the Month Entry- 1984 Blue Max, BMX Products, 20" BMX

Hello! Thanks for adding me to your forum. Excited to join this community of BMXers!

I'm going to attach some pics of my latest build which is a 'Blue Max' BMX from 1984. If you don't already know, Blue Max is made by BMX Products. The folks that made/make 'Mongoose BMX'. They were exclusively distributed to US military bases throughout the world. What is now a rare and hard to find bike, the Blue Max survivor that I found on a marketplace app has undergone several accessory upgrades. New seat, rear brake, chain tensioners, grips, mag wheels, seat post, foam pad set and tires. The decals are original and the frame, sprocket, forks as well. The bike is 20" frame and all 4130 chrome made in the USA.

1984 Blue Max 20" BMX Frame, BMX Products
1984 Mongoose/Blue Max Forks
CW Handlebars
AME 80's grips
Odyssey 1999 rear brake assembly
Competition III 20" x 1.75" knobbie tires
SR pedals
SR neck
Mongoose 44T Sprocket
SE BMX Cruiser seat
20" ACS Z Mag Wheels
Rear Freewheel cog
Profile chain tensioners
Z Chrome Chain
GT Pro Performer lay back seat post
Flite Repop Blue/White Checker foam pads

Nice turnout so far this month  fistblump

FYI I've posted each entry from this month on the Rad Instagram page to give them a bit of a showcase and hopefully make a few people who were previously unaware of this place know about some of the amazing builds you guys put together. With almost 1600 followers on there already we've been getting some great feedback, as well as a few new forum members  :daumenhoch:

If it works out could make this a regular thing - as we know already with FB there's no substitute for a good forum build thread but if we can use newer platforms to reach out to people then it could be a good thing

For those that are interested in the journey of this bike. Its been a long time in the making for me, as I've been slowly putting it together for around a year. I purchased it from a well know collector, who had purchased it in its pink form ( see the pages of RAD ). I'd been looking for one of thee for around 20 years. So you can imagine how chuffed I was to finely have the opportunity to buy one. And have enough money at that time to buy it ::)

So SBD had painted a GT for me in this special US paint, and its stunning. I had to do this Frameset and bars in the same finish. In the flesh its like glass.
Another mate in AUS found the cranks for me, which SBD also painted. I get a few offers a month to buy this off me, but after 20 years looking its going nowhere :coolsmiley:

Hope you guys like as much as I do.

Last call for entries for October - just one more day to get your bikes in!

Haven't checked but I think this could be the biggest line-up we've had all year - awesome selection

And sticking up a big V to anyone who says things have gone stale :teef:
