I could do with some new headset bearings, I've been to a couple of local bike shops but they don't have any. Can anyone give me an idea of the size if I was to order some, I just can't remember how to describe them, is it by ball count or the race measurements?.
I realise that this probably sounds a bit daft, but I've been out of the game for an awful long time.

Thanks

Right we're on,
Stripped cleaned and re-greased all bearings, Stripped and re-built brake calipers, lubed cables, fitted new brake blocks cleaned up all nuts and washers gave the wheels a scrub, fitted a new smaller chainring so I can cruise beside my three and a half years old little lad on his pride and joy, fitted fresh tyres and tubes and gave the frame a gentle wipe over. So we're getting out tomorrow for our very first ride together. Mint.

Thanks for the help and the kind comments from you guys so far, so glad I did a bit of a search and found your forum, loads of great stuff on here. Let's see if I can 'after a 30 plus year break' still make the bike dance like I used to.

Hi guys, has anyone got an idea of which nice padded comfy seat with rails will fit on the laid back seat post, I've been looking at the latest seats and I didn't realise that there's so many variations on the way they fit. I need a comfy one because I can only stand 5 minutes on the current one, how I used to spend all day on that I've no idea.

Any railed seat will fit using the guts off your old one , steer clear of pivotal and tripod as they wont fit.

OK thanks. I need to go see some in the flesh to get a better idea of what I'd want. Trouble is all the shops near all seem to be geared towards mountain bikes.

Tough at first but after a while you get used to it :teef:

You can always try padded shorts - protects your harris but stops your bike looking like a fat American built it  :daumenhoch:

A leather padded Kashimax aero would look great :daumenhoch:

Had a bit of a ride on the quad today, I fitted some old GT bars I found in storage, they seem to look right on the bike. and I bought a cheap x rated seat for the time being just to give a bit of comfort, I did it's job remarkably well. Had a great couple of hours. Loving every minute being back on my bike.
