OK Radsters, let's see what you have in store for May BOTM  :daumenhoch:

- Please post a full build spec for your entry.
- You may post a maximum of 4 pictures of your bike ( no tiled images - 4 individual pictures )
- You MUST still own the bike you enter.
- Your entry MUST be a new build and have not been entered before, or, it must be a major rebuild with significant changes.
- The build MUST be completed within the month of entry
- All entries must be in before the 1st of the following month or they will be removed.
- Any entrant found 'canvassing' for votes or other forums/social media sites will have their bike removed.

So this is my first entry for BOTM, even though I have been building for years.
This is a Redline RL20 II. 1985 the first year it went into proper production after the 250 trial frames made in 84. RE serial number
Finished by SBD in powder, and I believe a very near match for the original painted colour.

1985 RL20 II

1985 Frame and forks, powdered by SBD
Redline Forklifter freestyle bars
Forklifter stem (genuine Suntour stamped)
Mint teal Peregrine Master mags with coaster.
Kenda tyres
401 flights and redline bubble font chainwheel
Nippon brake callipers (86)
NOS white Tech 4 (85)
NOS Teal DC cables (dated 86) - rare as unicorn shit
Suntour broken arrow seat clamp
NOS White Elina UL seat and post
Mint Suntour XC pedals.
NOS Beartrap 2 headset
AJK repos decal set.

This bike came to me painted in Radberry, but at the time I only had teal master mags. That and the fact I also bought NOS teal DC cables from the seller of the frameset made the decision on colour for me.

I hand polished the callipers from dull alloy to a nice shiny almost chrome finish. Then hand painted some enamel paint into the lettering on the Nippons. So stop them oxidising, I coated Gtechnic ceramic alloy wheel sealant on the callipers. Easy than lacquering them from a spray can.

The Suntour clamp was hand polished too and coated as well.
Then I bleached the NOS Elina seat as it was patchy creamy yellow. Not perfect, but it’s 100x better than it was.

Rear triangle of frame was a little dull. I used Meguiairs plastic polish on this as it’s a very fine abrasive - normal chrome cleaners are too harsh I think.

I loved building this bike, normally I take years to finish, but this one has been done from a mere thought to finished in 3 months.

Hope you like..

Great to see BOTM still going strong. Awesome builds and attention to detail as always. I'm especially loving the mid 80's vibes coming off that Rhino Charge :)
