this is just an enquiry, as the frame is not ready, but . . .
i want the rear canti lugs removing, and welding back on as u brake lugs
its a late model ripper (i bought it in 2002, new)
the frame will be bare metal. anybody handy at the old brazing?

why? the canti brake is a million times better than a U brake?

not a million times better, but i get your point.
i can't get used to feel of the v brake. i cant seem to feather it, and it feels weak.
hence i'd rather have a uey. the vbrake is too sharp for me. its on or off.

your not wrong on the v brakes mate mine are so keen it stops dead or skids everytime i tough it on my se bronco cant get used to new school brake that works rather than old school nearly works

nothing wrong with mine either, infact the rear v-brake works better than any other brake ive used, and im running aero zytecs!! with unbranded cheapo nasty pads.

have you thought about trying a lever with an adjustable ratio like the XTR levers used to have?
that way you should be able to tailor the feel of the brake to suit your preferences
there were a couple of right hand Shimano XTR brake levers on ebay last week!
