1986 GT World Tour
« on: January 01, 2018, 04:40 PM »
I built this originally in 2015 for the Cleethorpes ride when Eddie Fiola first came over on the 30th anniversary of the 1985 GT World Tour. It is actually an 86 GT PWT but was stickered up as an 85 for the ride and display. I have dithered over swapping the stickers over to the correct ones but could never bring myself to remove the perfect 85 font ones. Anyway, new year, new bike and all that I finally went in to the cave yesterday and peeled those bad boys off!

The 85 stickers have a lot of yellow in them and with them removed and the 86's added all the yellow has gone. And to be perfectly honest it looks far better for it. Just swapping the stickers as given me a new love for the bike and feels like it was only built yesterday.

I know a couple of stickers are missing from the top of the down tube but there are a couple of signatures there that will do for now :LolLolLolLol:

I much prefer it now Nick, never really liked the 84/5 decals on any colours other than yellow or white.

It surprised me how fresh it looks now!

I always loved this bike as it was, but now it's perfect Nick!  :4_17_5: Don't worry about the missing GT-decal you mentioned. Having these signatures of Eddie and Martin gives it that special bit of history, at least imho.  :daumenhoch:
