Sorry for the newbie questions!

Where can I get a container big enough to put a frame in?

Thanks!

Use a kids cheap paddling pool mate.

Check the "stickies" section in tech and resto rest and you'll see gems like this thread :coolsmiley:

You may have to put the kettle on or crack a tin though as it's a wealth of info and you could be reading stuff for hours  :daumenhoch:

Never tried vinegar ... always citric acid in hot water for rust removal for me  fistblump

I have seen posts over on the museum about vinegar staining or browning the chrome.

I have read conflicting stuff, water/vinegar mix and other saying just vinegar.

Can anyone confirm?

Neither

Either use citric or oxalic acid - can get both from eBay no probs

+1 on citric acid. I use it quite a bit, it is even fun watching it fizz and do its stuff (or is that just me!).

Swerve the vinegar mate. Try the OA or CA... works a treat.  :daumenhoch:

Also you may come across folk who swear by Coke and tinfoil... swerve that too. Scratches fook out the chrome.  ;)

I got a Christmas Tree box from Argos. It worked pretty well but fill the voids with stuff or the water will push out the sides. The lid will help it hold together though. Useful thing for storage when not in use and no chance of a puncture ;)
