Gen 1 gyro help

Hi All

Started to put together my 87 Master and straight away I've come across a problem I cant seem to get enough Thread to attach lock nut I've never done this before and have no instructions seen a few pics on net but that's about it can anyone help me out with some advice and show me where I'm going wrong

have you used the keyed washer that usually goes between the top race and the locknut ?

As Jim said, remove all spacers/washers from original headset as the plate will replace it

Yes I removed original washer I'm thinking it could be the first few threads of lock nut that might be worn rummaging round for another see if it helps

you may need to find a top race without the  nut on it,   just with the knurled bit and the keyed washer,  preferably a race with a flush fit wahser,  had to do this in the past on some forks with shorter threads,

 ideally you want the fork thread almost to the top of the top lock nut when tightend up  :daumenhoch:

I'm missing the moving bit. Don't know if your Gyro came with a instalation instruction, so I hope this is of any use to you.  :daumenhoch:
