S&M Kris Bennett Build Thread *DONE*
« on: September 06, 2017, 11:39 AM »
So I fell in love with MidSchoolJon's Bennett at MK and even tho it didn't win a trophy I literally ran to put a medal on it ... its a beauty.

Then I've been adoring Doug's yellow Bennett and it got to the point that I thought I should try and track down a frame so I could have a go at one

Think I have located one in the States... just negotiting now  :)

Its always been interesting to me how much negativity there is towards Bennetts on Rad. A lot of folks on here don't like them (which is perfectly fine by the way), but it definitely is unique to Rad. I guess I find it strange because the bikes arent a million miles away from many other bikes of the era that don't get any hate at all. Not to mention Bennett was a absolute ripper who killed it on pretty much every terrain.

Keep going Ed, Its going to turn our great Im sure.  :daumenhoch:

I think the 'lazy lob on' tag the frame gets is because the taller standover makes the wishbone bend more pronounced. I remember people commenting on it at the time they came out, so maybe not just a rad thing!
I agree a lot of other wishbone frames have a bit of 'brewers droop' about them  :LolLolLolLol:

Haha, yes I have heard that argument before as well. Must be a lot of BMX'ers with penis envy back in the early 2000's.  :LolLolLolLol:

I couldnt care less what anyone thinks badly about the bennett. I learned to ride the biggest jumps of my life on mine and some of my proudest ever moments were on it. Bennett was and is a very definive character and influence on the best era of bmx in the east coast of the usa so its always good to see homage payed. Looking forward to seeing this progress bud, just make sure you dont accidentally press the hidden rage button on your frame. Its hidden well, but its definitely there. Fun fact- part of the reason they were so overbuilt was to stand up to being thrown around in a fit of rage
