Mine has got a built in seat post, it is a pivotal attachment but the height can't be adjusted. Any ideas why?

new school style is to run very low seats to help with whip jumps 

but the real answer is because you haven't cut it off yet! :-)

thats what Gra did to my old one ( the grey one above ) ... then you can just run a normal clamp and post  obviously leave enough for a skinny clamp when you cut it 

I've still got the bit he cut off somewhere

I'm sure there's a line / indentation on the seat post to show you where to cut, imo I'd keep as is ,they can't be too many uncut.
