Any ideas on cleaning these....
« on: November 02, 2016, 02:52 PM »
Picked these up recently, advertised as 'lightly discoloured' - far from the truth, they're a very dark beige shade of original white!! One's worse than the other.

Any ideas on getting back to white??

When I was born, the world was a far simpler place.
It was all just cops and robbers.
And BMX.

Peroxide....good chance of working.
I did some white Sharps a while ago, it worked great but they have yellowed a bit since....I will do them again in the summer buy leave in for longer!  :daumenhoch:

Leave them in sunlight, on windowsill etc, takes time but will whiten them.

If you get them back to white by other means, leaving them in sunlight will keep them white.

Deffo Peroxide bud type 30 I used..
Lash the on the stuff , then wrap them in cling-film, leave them out side on the washing line etc to direct sunlight the UV light reacts with the peroxide..
Make sure you have gloves on ...  :teef:  as the stuff is nasty..
its worth a try.. fistblump

I've got the same grips with the same problem. Tried peroxide didn't have much luck and if you leave it it will start to eat into the rubber. Have used the sunlight trick on a seat before and it worked but that's out until the summer. I'm going to do that and finish off with trainer whitener.

Okay, just got them in after a day in peroxide (12%) and sun....I've rinsed them and they have lightened quite a bit, but they have gone sticky even after several rinses / washes.

Anyone had that effect?
