does this mean the new skyway streetbeat project will be binned?
FROM PLANTET BMX , BMX MUSEUM: Hey all! Well, the news is out. After many decades of being manufactured in Redding, California, Skyway Tuff Wheels will be now made in facilities in Indiana and in Mississippi. All of the original Tuff Wheel molds from Redding, have been transferred to the new molding facilities and will continue to be used ensuring that the wheels will be exactly the same.
This decision allows the longtime owners of Skyway to plan a well-deserved retirement while ensuring that the Skyway brand thrives under American ownership for more decades to come.
While wheel production is moving, Skyway BMX products such as the T/A framesets, and the new Streetbeat project will still be designed and planned by Ken and Rein in Redding, California as usual, and sold through us at PlanetBMX.
We are certainly excited moving forward, and Skyway will continue to honor its roots in BMX!
Ken Coster will remain in sales over at the new company, ensuring that all remains the same, and that all newly made wheels are made to Skyway's high standards.
