Okay both Rad and FB seem quiet on the parts front these days.
If you are building how are doing and is it a case of who you know?
It seems that sellers are moaned at for being overpriced so there is no insentive to bother selling?
Thoughs boys ...

I'm building for once  ;D

Not even picked up the frame yet but already had lots of help from Radsters, in my build thread & via PM
The research part is proving to be a bit more difficult for me than usual just because it's a late midschool build, but that's a big part of the fun - since I've not built anything for a couple of years I don't want it to be over in 5 minutes!

Might be a long wait for bars & crank though...

As I only have one bike since I was 12 (...and yes - my feet obviously didn't grow from then on  ;D ) , there's not much to build for me. But I gave refining my beloved bike a go.
I pretty much started my project at the same time I found  :radbmxsmilie:

Due to it beeing quiet on the parts front - as you mentioned, I just have to be patient and wait for the right parts I need to come up.
Meanwhile, I enjoy my progress on restoring several parts and selling oversized shoes.  :daumenhoch:

I got some wheels for that Master, if it helps  :coolsmiley:

I am putting together my last ever build. Some of the parts were hard to find, but I swapped the rim spec, crank spec and chainring spec due to no one coming forward with parts, and/or because it is a rider.

Finding a nice used black 44T Sugino ring is proving difficult.

As for sellers prices, well, there are those that have dropped their prices in line with lower demand, but there are those that still pop prices out of thin air, particularly overseas sellers.

I have to say as someone who has to potentially sell some bits in the near future ( due to crappy life events ) I sadly won't be letting my parts go cheaply. It's not greed on my part but necessity.
I think parts are rarer than ever now and like many collectors I'd rather keep my bikes/parts than undersell them  :-\

It was never an easy hobby ( that was always part of the fun ) but it must be a real challenge at the moment for those trying to build

I have built a few this year. Parts are there. So have had no problems. I have one redline to do to my taste and the parts have come up without any problems. Some luck more than judgement to be fair.

I am building stuff all the time and never have problems finding parts , mainly due to the fact that I always seem to buy parts in bulk . I work by the theory " if one is good , then more are better "

Got 3 bikes on the go at the minute, overall its been availability rather than cost that's been a problem.

Things have come up though, I have had to borrow the odd part from another bike, but it's not been too bad.

Yesterday I happened upon a bundle which included 2 items I need for £40, a great deal btw , one item will finish off the Viper  :daumenhoch:

Stuff is still out there, it's just more of a waiting game these days.

Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

I have five on the go at the moment and enjoying each and every one.
Parts are very hit and miss. Recently I have lost out on key parts that have popped up on ebay, I think my bid is a healthy one and nope, always pipped at the last moment. Case-in-point: recently a Tioga Max Flow crank came up, mint, I put £80 on it and it sold for £81. Unless another pops up I will have to use a Taskforce crank.

I have been getting more involved in restoration of parts now which helps broaden the scope. I can build wheels now, anodise parts, bring back plastic from the brink etc. I was also struggling to find a black Sugino chainwheel at sensible money so I bought a scuffed up 43T in plain silver, it is now anodised black and looks near mint. It is all very time consuming but very rewarding.

I do not do the facebook thing so probably miss out on some stuff I guess.

To be honest i've sold a lot of stuff on Rad over the past few years and found as long as I was sensible with the prices then it all went. I shifted my brother's entire stash piece by piece on here over about 2 years and then sold my last oldschool recently on here and priced it all really sensibly and every nut ad bold sold. I evenue flogged my original ProClass wheels to stop me getting tempted to build another as I knew i'd never get a decent build for less than a £grand anymore and I just don't have that kind of spare cash lying around these days  :-\

So for me i'd say you have to remain patient and the parts will appear..... which is why i'm best out of it as I want it all straight away :2funny:

I've just finished getting all the parts together for a build I've quietly fancied doing for the last couple of years and only if the right frame & forks came up at the right price. Then,Bingo, about 3 or 4 months ago I found the f+f,bars & seat as a NOS package and went for it. I really thought I'd struggle for the correct parts to do it justice but they all just seemed to fall into my lap and not at extortionate prices either. I'm getting the wheels built up this week and then I'll start to put it together. I ain't rushing it as I've really enjoyed sourcing the individual pieces of the jigsaw in my own time and without a deadline to meet. I'll take some photos and post 'em up when I get the chance.

I am really struggling to get an orphan white comp St tyre in as new condition. Five years looking every bloody day.  Got some nice white Duro St as a stand in. I'm keeping the faith that one will turn up, but I bet it will be around the hundred pound mark!
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. Miss you loads Dad

Been steadily collecting parts for the last few years to a point where I've got 3 builds ready to go and another 3 builds that just need a few bits. I rarely have a shopping list and more often than not incorporate parts i pick up for reasonable prices... but i do like to get matching bars for my f&f's which some times takes time. Some of the prices I'm seeing for parts on fb in particular are fookin crazy.   Most of my bargains are picked up off here or ebay.  :daumenhoch:

Got a few things on the go at the moment but don't think I need anything as such, am always on the look out for an Elina MX style seat in blue and need a few little bits and bobs like a DC centraliser spring and adjuster and a Zeronine number plate.  Wouldn't mind some Comp IIs but can't see me paying the going rate for them  ;D

Well the rugby season has finished for me, and possibly the coaching.......I love it but the politics are a nightmare, so my boots may get hung up

I need to get going on a couple of builds, and fell the love, nothing more than a fresh build
