Hi I'm new
« on: May 19, 2017, 10:24 AM »
Hi, my name is Jay and this is the first BMX forum I've ever signed up to. Looking to get into it because my brother got a bike for Christmas and it's slowly rubbing off on me - birthday next month so going to be getting a bike myself (any advice on a good value make/model?). I pretty much know nothing about the sport but there's a skate park next to my house which is really good for riding apparently. (https://lovinmanchester.com/feature/check-out-a-pro-bmx-rider-owning-insane-new-manchester-bike-park).

Look forward to posting here!

Welcome to  :radbmxsmilie: Jay

Hard to recommend anything without knowing a bit more

If you are looking to ride parks though you really want to consider a modern bike - stronger, lighter and cheaper than Old School!

Plenty of second hand bargains come up - main considerations to look out for are cromo all round, sealed bearings etc and most importantly perhaps the right size frame for you to feel comfy on it, how tall are you?

If you can get to a Rad event there will be plenty of people that will let you try a bike out for size, whereabouts are you based?
