Restore or leave as is?

I have had my Pattersom Pro Long for a few years now, it has previously had a repair which is not too bad but It was not really done in a way that blends in and the frame was never rechromed. I have struggled to find anyone over here in Perth, Australia that will tidy up the repair in fact only one place and they were not too interested.  I have a friend back in the UK who is awesome at this type of repair but don't really want the hassle of sending it there and back and the same with the bike repairers in the eastern states.

So my question is, should I clean up and polish the frame and forks, apply the new decals I have and leave the repair and the bits of chrome peel as it is, in survivor mode and build it up?

Even the wife thinks leaving the repair as it is and building it up is the way to go, so I will probably do that and get it done over the next few months

There is also some chrome peel on the rear dropouts that I don't have a pic of at the moment

Build it survivor and if it still bothers you in future you could always bring it with ya when you pop back to Blighty and get it seen to.

As long as the repair is good enough to hold up to some riding (assuming you're going to ride this baby), I'd agree with this...

My friend Colin Smith of Smith's Welding Services in Iver (West of London, near Pinewood Studios) however he closed up shop a couple of years ago but I can flick him a message to see if he could help you out as he's still doing some fabrication and welding work  .
