Been dying to do another sport build after my gen 1 sport build last year.
I was originally going to do a gen 2 84 sport the one with the white z`rims.
I managed to find most of the bits for the gen 2 some off the usual fleebay but most from this great forum.
But unfortunately I put this build on hold as I came across the pic of Mike D getting air on his iconic bike and decided to build a Mikey D rep instead..
So put that build on the back burner (no pun intended
).
Been lucky to be off since of Christmas and decided to finish of my Ultra burner build which I should have done ages ago..(see BOTM)
Then mid way in January Jaymz put up in the sale section a 2014 Haro sport frame and forks and decided to get this as I had most of the bits to build.
Did the deal inc a Anlun AL-300 S stem which only needed a slight refurb..
A few days passed and a well packed parcel arrived and I set to work..
This frame was based in the Gen 1 but I noticed this to be much heaver than my original gen 1 with very slight differences in spec.
The twin tube around the seat post is slightly longer on the 2014 and the seat stays tubing is caped on the drop out sections. Apart from that its exactly the same..
Last year I made a start on the Z rims.
They was in a pretty poor state to be honest.
One was spray painted white (told it was mint) and the other was off white patchy yellow.
Painted stripped the one lightly sanded the both of them with wet and dry.
Left them out the garden with hair bleach wrapped in cling film for 2 weeks during the summer last year..
I haven't got any before pics cannot find them ..
Contacted Del last week and decided to use stencils this time not decals.
It was a pain to do.
The front wheel I spray painted the stencils but the prep work was a pain.
The rear I hand painted with a detail brush. This way was far the easiest and to be honest looked the same as the front with less work. I think a black thick marker pen would do the job next time. But if a show pony the stick on type is so much easier but a soon as you hit the brakes they fly off.

Again had most of the bits inc a Anlun Super Duralumin 44T Black Anodized but need a Anlun Power disc .
I thought I had this in my stash but by chance I got a super goose which had a tuf neck chairing and I tuf neck power disc.
But on close inspection it was actuly a Anlun power disc in black.
(Did purchase the whole bike off here and was told a tufneck power disc..
)
