DC Tech 2 Levers
« on: January 20, 2017, 06:18 AM »
Does anyone run both front and rear tech 2s? If so, I'd be interested to see how you run the cables, as having never had them before, they look kind of weird, particularly the front cable, which runs straight down to the caliper. There's got to be some slack there though to allow for the bars to turn but it looks odd! Or is that just me? :-\

Yeah, that looks ok but you're running the levers the other way round to me, with the front lever on the right. With the front on the left, the cable drops straight down to the caliper.

I just followed the brochure spec on this.
The ET Kuwahara came with cable set up the same.

In Japan they drive on the left too  :daumenhoch:

Left for the back, Right for the front  :police: :Great_Britain:

Carl will probably be along in a minute to say the opposite :teef:

Looking at tech 2's I don't think it's a preference thing. Any other lever yes but with these there is just one way otherwise your cable is too short to turn the bars or it looks a complete dog.

i had a set of dc 901s on my ammaco and changed the braking over because of this, it looks crap otherwise. the cables should crossover each other at the front to look right.

Not the best photo but how does this look, with the rear lever on the right and the cables cable-tied in the middle?

Looks aside, this is the first time I've used Tech 2 levers and I have to say that I much prefer Tech 3s!

I think they should all be smelted down tbh, but understand if you want a catalogue-spec bike etc that may not be an option

No catalogue-spec builds here, just thought I'd try something different and couldn't resist the bargain price I paid for 'em in the first place! :daumenhoch:

I like them but they only work with certain bars (not too long and with the crossbar in the right place). They seem to sit perfectly on those Win bars though Mick ;)

Cheers Paul! :daumenhoch: Yeah, I think they go well with the Wins but I definitely wouldn't run them on a regular rider.
