Really just an excuse to post a picc'y of my rider I'm still finishing 

Finally got off of the sofa today and headed out - just a pokermon search with the mini picklez', but god there's only so much netflix and shat I can take. Rather than walk dragged the ol girl out of the garage as still dialling her and myself in.

Good little cruise around, nothing too strenuous, few 180 hop's etc but just good to be out. Still need to finalise pedals and restore seat but not too bad for cruising. Not sure on the back end at present very fine balance zone for manuals that I'm not managing to catch yet so not sure I'll persist long term with the frame but will keep tweaking for a while yet. On that note, anyone got some cheap old school tensions they want shot of? not scared of resto work etc, just thought it may be worth an ask 

Anyway, here she is just before returning to the garage, anyone else been out and taking a few snaps?

I've had a ride out this morning, local park, bit damp and cold but blew the cobwebs off, only managed half a hour.

Trying to dial in the manuals myself, never quite got them but they're improving after watching Scotty Cranmers 'How To' on You Tube.  Hopefully get out a bit more in the next few weeks.

Good man, and thanks for the you tube hint, I'll wonder over in a little while and check it out. 

Spent most of today dreaming about building a new ramp. Was always more into that side of riding than flat/street etc so we'll have to see how much garden I can get away with 'claiming'

When you talk about dialling in the bike what tweaks are you making, I'm newish to all this again, been riding again for the last 10 years (still not great) but at 41 all these things need refreshing with me.  I'm at that now or never stage where I want to get some tricks ticked off else I'll never get them

Thank you bud, been a coaster convert since I was around 13-14. I know quite a few find them to be hard work/annoying/nasty or whatever, but for me personally they just suited me better than free wheels. Never got on with a free wheel, fakies and roll backs etc just used to do my nut in with a free wheel. Plus coasters and kick turns were just a marriage made in heaven - IMHO anyway.

76 - my ref to dialling my build in isn't as tech as it sounds or anything. Just the bike is a recent 'ground up' rebuild, stripped and re-packed hubs etc etc (original build thread: http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,187831.msg1892117.html#msg1892117). So all I'm getting at is on an old school rebuild of this nature, and one I'm planning to thrash about quite a bit it's amazing how many of those bolted together parts need 'bedding in' and a good couple of re-tightens once you've had the first few gentle ride outs. You think you've done everything up nice and tight in the first place but after a few cruise arounds you'll will be surprised how many parts have moved/loosened slightly. Second to that I just seem to have got a hell of a lot better at setting up my whole drive train etc since bitd. Even with good old os parts (in good condition) it is amazing how smooth you can get everything running with a bit of fine tuning etc. On a rider build it's nice to get it all nice and tight, I don't mean so moving parts hardly turn etc. Actually quite the opposite, just little refinements so things (that should spin) spin forever but don't have a stuff load of free play etc. A good example is the headset on this build - safe to say it's destined for the bin as I just can't get it to work right. It's a Tange (which a few on here don't rate compared to Tioga BT2's) but was fitted with new bearings/grease and headset lock, but the blooming things been a nightmare to set up, either too much play or too tight, nothing in-between. I've persevered for a few gentle rides, adjusting and re-adjusting but just can't get it to behave. I think either the cups must have worn races or the new bearings i got must just be pants. Anyway, as soon as funds allow it will be replaced with either a new repo BT2 or maybe one of those new 125 repo's - it's a rider and they're needle bearings in those, which I thought may be interesting to try out.

Another one is bar position, it's amazing how just a few millimetres off centre offset in the stem clamp can affect balance etc, even on something simple like endos. if they are your body/bike will always want to naturally twist to that side once you hit the apex of the endo and then pivot back down to the ground.

Basically for me (for a rider) the bike's only finished when I'm not re-adjusting everything every few minutes and a can drop it from a few inches above the ground and it bounces with a firm sounding 'bong' rather than loads of rattles etc.

I'm building an old school trick ramp and qtr pipe this winter so want this one rolling sweet by the time they're finished.

There's a few more things as well but just basically meant final tuning etc.
