Got a nice chrome frame but there seem's to be what they call 'crazing' through the chrome? (on closer inspection it looks more like its stained not raised) looks a bit like when you get salt under your alloy car wheels if you get me? how do I get rid of this? will it polish out? Oxy bath etc? anybody have any idea or is it fooked  ???

please any idea's how to sort it greatfully received  :daumenhoch:

I think the problem with that is that probably the metal underneath is rusted so it might be too buggered to clean the chrome up  :'(

OK thx,it's a shame as it's still nice and shiney,is it best to have it stripped then? (how much does this. Usually cost) or. Can you paint/powder straight over it as it is?

Carl..

Give this guy a bell but call late mornings as he does not do mornings  :LolLolLolLol:
Local to you mate.
Its a small two arches type of business hands on old school with large tubs but there set up looks great,
When I was there a guy picked up a frame and forks and was charged £120 but was a regular customer.
I had a pair of forks and pair of 401 flights arms done for £70 and was happy with the finish.
They can strip the frame as well.
Don`t expect the job to be perfect as the guy collecting the frame was having a slight moan but I was looking at the frame and to be honest it was a good job for the money.
What do you expect for £120 .

I recently had a frame and fork stripped, polished and 4x plated by Chromefix in Birmingham. I can not fault the job except that the seat post clamp needed to be relieved to be able to fit over the thick luscious plating! Not cheap but worth it to me. £264

I am also having a frame dechromed by them and that job has incurred a minimum order cost of £40 which I thought was very fair.

Just to confirm this is up to date as of December 2016
