10mm freecoaster hub
« on: December 09, 2016, 08:35 PM »
I've got a KHE with a taska freecoaster that refuses to work, I've lost count ot the times I've stripped it down and tried different sized spacers in it, and have finally admitted defeat with it!
Where can I find a new hub?
After 6months of searching I can only find 14mm axle versions that cost about 5x what I paid for the whole bike!
I have considered opening up the dropouts or grinding flats on a 14mm, but as a last resort....

Put a wanted add up on here mate,or keep looking on eBay for one as they show up,had a couple from there
Plus I've had a few off rad members, taska ones and suntour  freecoasters (which I prefer)
I too have had an issue with a taska-mine just kept slipping when riding even after stripping-reapaking +changing washers etc
Had a suntour one for 20+ years and still works fine

can get this with 3/8 bolts ,   looks like that is the one listed ,    you can always take the color off if your not keen on it

there are a few with 3/8 bolts , usually listed as being female axle , just  check the bolt size  :daumenhoch:

Forgot to mention,  it's a 36 hole hub too.
I did see the exact same hub as mine but in 48 hole on ebay a while back, but was reluctant to pay the £60 he was asking for it incase it was just as bad once I swapped the guts over....
The problem seems to be that the clutch springs have lost their tension.
