New to this Old School BMX restoration......
Can anyone advise on a good rechroming company in the N.E?
I have looked in the Yellow Pages and only one was listed..

Be very careful getting a frame & forks rechromed, I have yet to see a rechrome job that looks like the original chrome. I've asked a few companys in the North East to rechrome one of my frames and they all turned it down.

had this frame & forks done at hampshire electroplaters

really nice job and only cost £130 but i agree with bren you will never recreate original finish becausae of all the prep work they have to do to remove rust etc

p.s they do all prep work, dont know if curtis used more than one chromer but hampshire electroplaters did curtis and rickmans bitd, i remember riding past and seeing a van load being dropped off!!!!!!!!!!

doug taylor in weston supermare specialises in classic bikes and cars he will do a mega job but £150 for frame and forks had my bars done £45 look mega and seen a bike ff he did some race frame not sure looked mega guarenteed for a year plus if hes not busy you can jump the 3 week waiting list , i know its not local but it is quality
