***WINTER RADCHESTER RIDE 2017 - Sat 28th Jan***

Hi I live in Manchester and would love to come along  if that's ok  I am a proper billy no mates when it comes to old school BMX

Dan's right mate , were a friendly bunch    I only knew a couple of people in the old school scene when i got back into it , i went on the rides out and the old school race days (when they were going) and have met loads of top lads and lasse's , many of whom will be friends for life now

Well said. I knew nobody, and was a bit intimidated and nervous that everybody seemed to know each other when I turned up for my first ride (Manchester, 2011). That feeling lasted about 15 minutes until I got chatting to a top bunch of radsters. Never looked back 

I'd like to say the same but me n Gaz Hulmes turned up pissed from a 7am northern soul night at radchester 2012 , no one spoke to us all day I think we might have scared a few, I know Gaz scared Dan haha

I was just at the wrong place at the wrong time as in, a very drunk Gaz (who to me, at the time looked a very menacing, hard as fook bruiser), was stood next to me at the bar, and was either being ignored by the Bar Staff or getting refused, can't remember which. I decided at that point that I no longer wanted a drink, and headed out.

I was very ashamed the next few times when I met Ali and Gaz that is judged books by their covers, 2 of the nicest lads you'll meet on a ride.

Haha thanks mate, but TBH I'd have avoided us too n yes he was being ignored the when he spoke up he was then being refused

Why I was so wary is that he reminds me a lot of a local nutter to me, Chris Plant. Chris is a big lad and a big drinker too, always getting asked to leave pubs. In the 90's, he was asked to leave The Parrot, the 2nd pub on the Hawarden ride after Jeff's, Chris left, but came back armed with a holly bush that he'd used the towbar of a car to pull out of the ground from someone's garden, he then forced the bush into the porch way of the pub so nobody could get out, then parked the car across the other exit, locked it up then left, taking the keys with him.
