Was just browsing through the for sale section and saw this thread http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,188285.0.html
Not being a GT man, i'm not up on these at all. So what's the difference between a world tour and a pro performer. Was one a complete and the other a frame/forks set only, or is it simply colours/decals?

I'm no expert Andy but I've always been under the impression the difference is parts spec, colour and decals  ???
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

Clint is quite right as far as catalogue spec is concerned. Full bikes were advertised with different parts, at least this is what the 86-catalogue shows.
I can try to upload it and drop the link below if you want to.

Regarding the frame and fork-sets there are servaral other indications but these aren't Pro - or World Tour specific as far as I've learned from Nick
( ...maybe I'm a bad student?  :-[ ), such as where the serial numbers are stamped dropout (...left I believe) or BB, the serial number it self can tell the year it was made in and where it was made.
But I would trust in Nicks words, who said that the frame number doesn't tell if a frame was originaly sold as a Pro - or a World Tour Perfromer.

As Nick said also in the thread you mentioned, most World Tour Performers came with double cable guide on the front fork. Mine for example came with a single cable guide. That could mean it has the wrong forks, the wrong decals or it is one of those Pro World Tour Perfromers - I don't know if "rare" is the right term to choose here - that just came with a single cable guide.

If World Tour Perfomers had colours available that Pro Perfromers didn't, this I don't know. But I'm sure Nick knows the answer.

Hope that helped a little bit  :-[

Welcome to RAD  :daumenhoch:

Just thougt i'd ask the question publicly, as i'm sure i'm not the only one who has wondered about it. That's the beauty of a forum based site such as this. As long as i or one of the mod/admin team don't remove the thread, it will remain on the site, plus the topic can be searched for using the tab towards the top right of the page  :daumenhoch:

Thanks for info Andy, Clint and others  :4_17_5:

Sorry i don't know how to convert it. Maybe you would need the pdf creator program, rather than just a pdf reader? I only have a pdf reader, not creator  :'(

I've just googled 'what's a looptail?' and i can't find the answer  :-\
Every link i click just gives me the message 'ask Trev'!
Who IS this Trev? Can HE tell me what a looptail is? Is he some kind of BMX guru? We should do a re-make of the Wizard of Oz, BMX style. All our BMX questions/myths answered...

All I know is the framesets were the same and sometimes. but only sometimes, the forks had twin cable guides, otherwise it was just a part spec difference

This is now one of my favourite threads. Some interesting GT info... but also "Google it"  ;D

Well I did "Google it" and it brought me back to this forum... how weird is that?
I asked Google a question about an old school BMX and it said I'd find the answer on the best old school BMX forum!?!?!

Is that mad or what?  :uglystupid2:

Google it....   :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny: :2funny:

I would say Gary Turner. If I understood that correctly it was him and his son Craig who founded GT-Bicycles way before google existed.  :D
