Hello from me
« on: August 05, 2016, 04:45 PM »
Hello, Well last night i was walking across the car park at work and spied a BMX in the back of a car, got chatting to the lad who is a mate at work and he told me that he had recently bought it and continued to tell me about the scene!! I have to be honest i have not been on a BMX since the 80 but back then it was all i did and i was always happiest out on my super burner, so i got to thinking why not do it again, 45, slightly overweight, bald and not exactly in peak fitness......Exactly i thought only my dignity to lose so here i am on the hunt for knowledge before i buy the right bike and give it a go, i will try and use the forum searches to avoid silly questions as i know how annoying they can be, i am on a detailing forum so have a rough understanding of them but please bare with me. The only thing left is to introduce myself i guess, I am Simon and live near Derby with my partner and daughter, i drive a lorry for work and spend the rest of my time cleaning my cars which some say is dull but some play golf!!

Be gentle :)

Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

A frame & forks would be a good start.  :LolLolLolLol:
Don't rush into anything though... take your time, do a little research and ask anything you want mate... we've all been there.  :daumenhoch:

Hi Simon,
Welcome to  :radbmxsmilie:
People end up here for many reasons! I think the one thing everyone has in common is that it takes them back to a time when things were much simpler!
You have a few options ....
1. Build or buy a Super burner like you had bitd.....enjoy the process...relive a few memories..
2. Build the bike you always wanted bitd but couldn't afford   "               "          "       "
3, decide if you want a freestyle or race bike
4.Keep an eye out on here or ebay until you find something suitable...ask as many questions as you like...no matter how silly you think they are, someone will always point you in the right direction....

Welcome to Rad  :daumenhoch:

If you're gonna ride the bike you end up building, don't get a Burner  :-X

Understood and thanks for all the guidance, I had a freestyle around 10 years ago white walls the lot but gave it my nephew who turned it to junk, defo would prefer one again but lots of cash it seems and I already spend too much on detailing lol.
