Resto project for my Son - Mini Burner ??
« on: July 25, 2016, 09:17 AM »
Hi Guys

I am after a resto project for me and my son

Was looking at a Raleigh Mini Burner with 16" wheels ... seem to be a few on ebay .. are they any good ??

Does anyone have any history info on this model some of them look "newish" not sure if they still make them ...

Cheers

You shouldn't have any problems finding one of the original 80s one. As with the standard 20" Burners, the Mini's also had Mk1 and Mk2 models, these are recognised with the Mk1's having the gusset between the 2 main frame tubes, and the Mk2's having the oval tubing, and no gusset.

There were Raleigh Burners made more recently, but they just carry and share the name, they're made by the firm that bought Raleigh (Tailwanese probably), nothing whatsoever to do with the iconic 1980's Burners made in Nottingham.

thanks mate appreciated

At a guess I would say this one is a MK2

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Raleigh-Mini-Burner-Old-School-BMX/182218209136?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D35377%26meid%3Dbb039a1e4c6b48c19d91d21a53c3fbd7%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D261734833682

Yeah, that's a Mk2.

I'm insure of how many models of Mini there were, I know a lot of people have created their own to match the 20" version, Night, Supertuff etc.
