Buying stuff from the USA.
« on: June 29, 2016, 02:09 PM »
Hi Guys,
I've ordered my first purchase from the USA and it is en route to me, New Master Flatland Frame. Now I am following the tracking Number and as I am new to this I have a Question.
You sometimes hear of nasty Customs charges on frames & Bikes, Now mine appears to have passed customs, would this be the time I would get the surprise or when it arrives at my door.

Cheers :)

Where did you purchase it?

Generally, Parcelforce will collect your item and send you a customs notery with their fee added. Once you receive it, you pay it online and they release the parcel to be delivered to you.

But, depending on the seller, you may have paid up front for the charges, or, they will not declare the full value, and you will receive it without charges incurred.

I bought it from Flatlandfuel and it's being delivered to me in Mallorca, seems to have passed Customs and tracking number now says en route to me.

Or if they used FEDEX they will deliver it and then bill you afterwards for the duty.
