Once you 'get it' you'll realise old school is crap
Pickle is correct , but......
you could save yourself some hassle n flog the Ruben to me
Old school's what I know, and I sure do know a lot of crap.
And nice try, amigo.
Believe it or not it was bought 'As Seen Brand Unknown' for a fiver via eBay, the seller was just 5 miles away. You just can't part with a bargain like that, so it'll be a grudge-match to get this finished and ridden whilst there's some Summer to be had.
I'll have another crack at it today, the bit stuck in the headtube was the blocker. The bearings being transferred aren't sealed but aren't quite loose, there's a load of small ball bearings embedded in the cups. It works, so there's no need to buy replacements.
The race on top of the forks was a tight fit but went on and came off again; looking at pics of other bikes with these forks, they do seem to ride a little high. That fat flange that the race sits on is a bit too visible for my liking, but if it works, it works.
