Its seems the theory that japan might be awash with oldschool parts is a duff one, or at least as far as i have found so far.
The second hand knickers in packets myth is deffo true though  ;)

By more luck than judgement i have unearthed these though  :daumenhoch:

Great job there Clint! :daumenhoch: Though you're definitely right - you've far, far greater chances of scoring old school electronica here than BMX parts. In fact I've often thought about starting a business along those lines. ::)

Can easily pick you up a pair Jaymz  ;)

Friday saw us checking out Yokosuka and we almost immediately stumbled upon a tidy little skate park  :daumenhoch:

Then just as we went to set of we noticed a great little track lurking behind the single person tennis walls

Even had a mini track for the kids

Today saw us heading back to the abandoned bike shop to leave a note for anyone who may have access  :daumenhoch:

A little side building had hundreds of tyres of various sizes stacked chest high and i spotted a couple of boxed framesets in the back but could not make out any name on the box

Pressing on towards the beach we found a little bike shop with a few faded looking packets on pegboards. Sadly there wasnt anything noteworthy but the owner had a cool little panaracer toolbox

Rice paddys are fookin everywhere once you get out of the city, quite often randomly between industrial units and the like. Never knew they had mini tractors to actually plant the seedling

My kinda skateboard was spotted further up the road  ;)

After some serious riding we finally made it to the beach

Heading home we spotted this weird thing

Then called into this surf shop for a mooch. The owner was ace and surprised when we told him our route. Just over 51 miles for the day  :D

One for the RC loving crowd today. We called into a place called Tam Tam which is essentially a bit like a Beaties model shop..... only a whole lot better.

The place is massive with isle after isle or random old stock and new RC parts and completes. Imagine a Tescos of RC

some of the older stock

If you are into your hotwheels a little place next door had isle after isle of them too. Every one despite age or design at around a quid and half

We went on to the skatepark we found the other day and rode it for a good few hours til it got too dark to see. The bowl was a little tight for a bmx but we were the only ones in there  :slayer:

my favourites were green tea/matcha, pumpkin and cookies and cream (If you can smuggle some back I have cash waiting :teef: )

I'll hold you to that! In fact I may even buy you a beer or two in exchange for some Marmite, Yorkshire teabags and/or supermarket-brand paracetamol!!! ;D

Enjoy your last couple of days here Clint and have a safe journey home.

Last day and a chance passing of a promising looking bike shop turned out to be quite a find. Old boy let me have a rummage through his boxes of old stock and i found a few jems  :daumenhoch:

The headset is a Tange falcon FL250 and is a lovely looking thing. The tyres are 2009 old stock panny hp406
The lot was had for a great price :daumenhoch:

He had some ame tris, vans cool stop pads GT seatposts, chainring bolts, cool stop 2pads and other bits, all cheaper than you would expect to find anywhere.
Found a cracking nos Nankai Techno 48 rear hub which was in one of his repair boxes which he didnt want to part with. He was mid repair on some bike at the time so i might see if our kid can coax it out of him when he is quieter  ;)

Some random stats for you folks.
Ride log (bmx only):

Ridden: 164 miles
Driven: 703 miles

Not bad for a couple old gents on kids bikes, as for Clint, he's somewhere over the central siberian plateau right about now!

Nice one! So what were the first things you ate and drank when you got back? For me it's usually a meat pie of some description and a pint of best! :daumenhoch:

Oh it was! but couldn't go too nuts, was super foggy and a lot of debris around, many of the corners (and by many i mean thousands) on that mountain route are blind, too!

Still a great drive though!
