Bulk-buying (& selling) o/s stuff?
« on: May 11, 2016, 10:56 AM »
OK folks, what's the thoughts / rules on this then?

Anyone who visited the "fix-it" gazebo at MK in the 5am club Helipad days will remember my brother Simon's (Hootski70's) stash of o/s stuff and you may recall I sold a small chunk of it for him on here about 18 months ago when he emigrated to Oz. He's back in the UK for a few weeks now sorting some stuff out at his house and it looks like they're staying in Oz for at least a few more years, so he's thinking of selling up as it will cost him too much to ship it over there and then sell it individually even though the market is strong there.

Before you all get excited, he has nothing particularly exotic in there but there is a lot of stuff, mainly Tuffs, a couple of nice complete Redlines, some Geese and a Kuwwie etc so the stuff we all rode as kids and not dreamed about in magazines :2funny: There's also a boxed 25th Anniversary Goose and a boxed 22" Faction Zietgeist in there that could be split out or included easy enough.

Does anyone know anyone interested in a bulk buy to give them a base for a great o/s collection? He knows what it's worth in parts but if someone were to be sensible and not insult him, he'd probably sell the lot in one go, or I'll have to start listing it all out and sell it for him over the next 6 months when he goes back to Oz.

Over the next few days we will sift through it all and make a list of what's there so if anyone knows anyone who might be interested so could you put the word out thanks, but they'll need a van for it all  Mods, we're both site supporters and will list it properly with prices when the time comes so I'm hoping I'm not fouling any rules on here with this :daumenhoch:

Sadly I think I'd be killed if a van load of more OS BMX parts arrived at Factory Pilot Towers Spen!  :D
But amongst the things you listed there would be at least one or two things that I'd be really interested in.

GLWS ... I hope whatever happens that this stuff gets sold in here first and not sent straight to eBay or FB :daumenhoch:

Yeah, I know what you mean Ant - I even thought about it myself for a minute but the blood-loss would be too high if the missus found me hunched over an o/s frame and box of brake calipers in the garage again after I hung my o/s building spurs up a few years ago..... :2funny:

We'll get into the boxes in the next few days and get things listed up properly when we have time :coolsmiley:

I'd take a metal-hubbed front tuff off your hands Spen, lavender or black preferably.

It's the boxes of brake/random parts that interest me the most. It's so satisfying to find that small part you've been after for a while such as a brake cable/clip, headset nut, crank caps etc

Hootski-rrific!

That's a lot of good gear ripe for restoration and some nice NOS stuff.

I still have to put that Procraft I got from Si together, hopefully later this year when I get my shed built in spring  :daumenhoch:

Has he got a blue Elina MX style seat in there?  :LolLolLolLol:

There's a bit of interest in this lot as a bulk lot and we're working on getting a full list sorted for them. For now here's a few more pics and if we can't sort a deal out on the lot in one go, I'll start splitting it all up and advertising it properly so the mods don't need to tell me off.

First off a few of the completes..... This one's got a blue Tuff Neck stem, blue DC hinged clamp, blue Araya 7X's on blue Sunshine hubs, NOS Japanese opc, NOS WIN V-bars etc. The blue DC1020 is in one of the boxes somewhere :2funny:

This Stu Thompson's got the correct Stu Thompson bars, gold Araya 7C's, gold Suntour stem, gold DC 890 caliper etc. Forgotten what the crank is but will get round to it :2funny:

The black Kuwwie has Black GT Pro bars, DK stem, Black Kashi and has the chrome Araya Aeros & gold hubs with the Compe 3's on it in one of the other pictures - don't know how they ended up apart in the process of moving stuff about. There's also a set of chrome Nippons in one of the boxes I recall to fit it, along with a set of crank arms :coolsmiley:

Here's the Mk2 Goose in candy blue - I'm pretty sure its actually a standard Goose not a Super from memory though and the brake bridge only has one hole for the brake spindle suggesting so.

Something for the midschool fans, a completely catalogue spec GT Vertigo

Can't blame him for wanting to sell the lot as a bulk buy, you'll have nightmares selling everything individually  :LolLolLolLol:
But I'll take the blue, white and yellow metal hub tuffs if they do do separately   :4_17_5:
