To keep the ball rolling on this great forum as Deeman amazing build..
I have haro gen 1 sport the oldest to date on the haro registry.
I got this from Raddad on here (great knowledgable guy) late last year.
I have been doing lots of research getting the correct parts for this very early sport and finally ready to share the progress of this build.(many thanks too stubill )
I have always wanted one when watching the Kellogg`s series BMX in `84..
Rushing home from school to watch or programming the old ferguson video star vhs to record if out..
/>Or..
/>I have lost count the times I have watch this and paused it to get ideas.(cheers Danny)
I have now got most of the bits for now to complete this build but the haro vectors I have need a refurb and planning on doing this weekend.
Here are a few pics of the frame as I had it off Jim...
It has a few marks on the drop outs which I like to be honest.
I like the patina and imagine Mike D rode it over tightening the wheels after a session at the Kellogg`s event ...
Well here is a few pics of the frame before paint .
And what it will look like when done ..
All the best.. fistblump

Made a start on the vectors today.
They was pitted with rust and very poor and missing the stem bolt .
Bit of the old elbow grease again with great results..
Did this on a set of forks..
Chrome kit doesn't work so don't bother :-[

Bit of advice..
Got a set of these graphite tuff`s dated 1984..
But  ::)  the Top riders had the silver graphite hubs not the gold..
I am in two minds what to do as it would be sacrilege personally to remove the gold.. "nono"

Awesome project. I'd keep the Graphite's, your other alternative is to run a normal set of ally Tuffs, which IMO would water down the wow factor.
Can't wait to see more progress. Keep up the great work.

Many thanks for your nice replies and help guys... :daumenhoch:
Going to leave the Campagnolo hubs as it is...
Just cannot do it and the missus who never gets involved with my kids bikes she calls it  ::) said looks better looking in gold..
And as Banachek said.. going with the graphites on this build as it fully deserve the wow factor with its history and could agree more with what radovr quoted and going big time on this iconic sport.. fistblump

Bit gutted today..
Fitting the flywheel too the hub and found a bit of play on the rivets  "help"
I don`t know if anyone would know who could repair this problem..
I bought these ages ago for this build as well..(bloody ebay)
I have got a spare rear which I bought earlier this year in the hope a front graphite might pop up so will swap for now and luckily its dated the same..
Well the tyres landed from Aus with no fees.. ;)

and the faulty hub..

Frame back from the spray shop..
Well happy with the work .
Would have used SBD but..
I just don`t trust the postal service as they have lost in the past two frames inc a Haro 89 bash guard with parts..
I would be gutted this ultra rare frame just one of seven left now to be lost... :crybaby:
anyway..
A few pics to whet your appetite... fistblump

Some cracking freestyle builds on here at the mo and this is shaping up to be another  :4_17_5:
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.
