Oddy Power Paw grips?
« on: April 14, 2016, 04:23 PM »
Any idea when these ran from/to?

Having a mooch at NPB's Holmes, reminded me that I have a pair of these.

They were in shops in 91, maybe a little earlier. I bought ten sets off eBay in about 2004, the original type with flanges. GSG eventually came round to my way of thinking and we bought a shed load of the remaining stock later in the 2000's. These came in n different packaging and were flange less. Just checked the packaging and I'm right, the early ones say 1991 after the copyright symbol.

Earlier type (91-) on the left. These had flanges, and came with a thin cylindrical cap to push over the bar end prior to fitting.
The later type (not sure on date they came out were flangeless, open at both ends and have a ribbed bar end plug which works much better. I tend to run the later plugs with the earlier grips as I like the flange (huh-huh!)
When I wear or run out of flanged grips, I will cut off the flanges to use with my flangeless grips.

Great info Ben, cheers  :daumenhoch:

I have two pairs of the ones on the left, one pair still bagged, and one pair opened but not used.
