A 1985 GT Performer to a






A 1988 Haro freestyler 

Is this a good choice in your opinion ?

I've got a 86 sport/fst hybrid that's my rider.  But I'd much rather a performer.

I have my performer for almost 5 years  so my thoughts  was at something else

I've ridden neither but for what it's worth, I'd choose the GT every time.

I concur, the sport and FST are a great geometry.

I have got both and they both ride nice..
The FST is slightly longer than the GT same geometry as the sport but not Chrome-Moly frame .
The GT is much better to the eye personally and will sell better than a FST..
If it was a sport no brainier as much better rear brakes ..

Chrome moly frame on the 1987/88 sport with Dia Compe 990 Rear brake .
Much lighter than the FST but same size frame..
Keep your GT bud..

To late  already SOLD my performer

But i have more of these

I want to try THE haro for a while

If iTS not my think i look for something else

On THE decals on my FST  is written full chromo  4130

Yours is a `87 FST and should be trimoly frame which is chromoly front but rear trimoly..
But..
Yours might be a `86 sport but decals of a `87 FST..
Due to demand back then they used sport frames using the chromoly only decal..but decals for a FST ..
So you might have scored bud..

The later `87 sports had the rear 990 brakes.
I have `88 FST and the rear drop outs are flat with no foot platform.
The forks uses the haro standers fitted on the 85 86 masters and sports..
My `87 and `88 sports both have the foot platforms..
But the later type fork standers..

so a `86 sport with `87 FST decals..

the sport was longer, FST same TT as master, IIRC

I know you are not going to be jumping it but the fst is a much stronger and better handling and bigger/better fit frame than the GT and the fst feels better on a track than a sport, the sports are a little front heavy.

the 86 sport that became a FST is what I've got, and that's not what we have here, main differences are in 86 there was no wrap round head tube gusset, and no 990 brakes, 87 there was. So the 87 FST in cyan and black with no head tube gusset is in fact a chrome sport in disguise

Always liked the Teal Blue Haro's.  I had an 88 Sport in black as a rider a few years back. Same as your FST. It rode lovely.
