Mmm if a remake of the SS or Turbo was to materialise I just know they would mess it up.  When I spoke to DB at Interbike they didn't even know who Kashimax was (perhaps since they are not really Diamond Back and just some giant company that owns brand names including DB).  Left to them to do this without appropriate input, I can only imagine the components they'd use.
A very valid point, but I think, just like Dave Hall had input with Raleigh on the reissues, I would hope Sparky would be asked for his input n the project

I'm not sure simply saying to Raleigh...here you go copy a HLT and SS frame/forks is the way to go.

Neither am I sure whether taking a current frame, add the components/name to create something that isn't.

Maybe the route could be a current frame, add the looptail and gussets and decent parts set using modern day repops/names where possible.

I'm not sure simply saying to Raleigh...here you go copy a HLT and SS frame/forks is the way to go.

So is someone talking to them about this? As mentioned before, when I spoke to them at Interbike (a few years ago now), they seemed clueless. Looking at the parent company's website its clear that money is the only thing that interests them.

I am. It was something I raised in my recent visit to them because come 2017 it will be DB's 40th Anniversary. Although it's just an idea at the moment some of the suggestions and ideas discussed have been positive.

Don't want to be negative but if it's the same company that was involved in the Anniversary Burners I'd be very weary. They took what was initially a good idea, saw the profit potential, knocked out pieces of crap that didn't sell well and ended up being sold off at heavily discounted prices.

you can't lump the whole anniversary programme by Raleigh together, the first one in 2007 that Dave hall had input on we're great little bikes, they sold well. The trouble with them started after that, Raleigh got greedy, thinking because they managed it once they could do it again but with bigger margins so all production costs were cut to the minimums, cheap parts were used and they were sold at the price as the original anniversaries, only they were inferior bikes. Hence the glut of boxed ones still around.

There are many obstacles, considerations, restrictions, the list goes on that has to be taken into account before it is approved for go ahead. I very much doubt they'll go the route of manufacturing a repop/copy....personally I think this would be a big mistake in trying to emulate something from over thirty years ago (there just isn't the capacity or quality out there to commit such resources I imagine). I hope with what I'm feeding them it will be something to celebrate, which is what 'anniversary' is all about but there is talk of a limited run of maybe a 20, 24 and 26 in numbers of no more than 40 for each model. It will probably be all new geometry but I have mentioned about using brands that are manufacturing today, such as the DC890, SR pedals, etc where possible and not just unbranded and below average parts. I'm extremely passionate about this and if at any stage I start to see a simple 'money spinner' I will walk away.....it might after not even happen yet.
