Not sure if this helps but Rock N Roll Bikes in Nottz have the Araya Aero repop rims  :daumenhoch:

I've had black, gold, red and 2 sets of polished from BMX Works, in Aus.

I think they're great.

This is still from Rock N Roll bikes in Nottm (used to be SuperCycles), the owner Mike is my uncle
I would love it if he remade 7x rims, but he told me once that getting rims made with the classic dimples was difficult for some reason
Maybe it was just the manufacturers he works with over there
that was a while ago maybe I should pester him about it some more

Its nothing to do with Araya Japan I think its just an European market only thing
The home page gives those details and a bit more

When my uncle first told me he was doing this I had visions of nice 7x repops coming my way :-)
But he has taken it in a different direction, the only old school-ish rim is the aero but very different to the original (no dimples, double walled)

Araya doesn't have a UK branch and these people have nothing to do with Araya no matter what anyone else may tell you. They justify it by saying that Araya is not in the UK so therefore we can steal the name, make some slight adjustments to the logo and make copies of real Araya products.

Well thats shit then ... I'm sorry to hear that and for promoting it.

I was told that they were the real deal and that RnR bikes had the exclusive deal on them  :-[

the only old school-ish rim is the aero

there's the 'pro class' too
here I was thinking they were the same company, doing modern 're-interpretations' of OS products
if that's not true and someone's cashing in on the name/logo then that's some next-level fookery

so went back to the site and lo and behold...

'This is just a note of explanation about our products. Araya was and still is a Japanese company making rims. They basically abandoned the European market around fifteen to twenty years ago. We re-established the brand in Europe in 2008. We use various manufacturers to produce our own spokes, nipples and rims. Everything is made to the highest quality and we aim to maintain the reputation built originally by Araya. Our alloy anodised nipples and stainless steel spokes in plain gauge or double butted have been sold for seven years and are universally acknowledged as some of the best quality and value products on the market.
We are now carefully developing a range of rims in all modern styles and sizes. Our Abyss deep section welded 700c rim is a joy to behold. Our new Strongbox Welded BMX rim is setting new standards in strength and value and the Pro Class BMX rims are evoking the original Mongoose rim of the 1980's, whilst manufacturing in a 21st century double skin giving remarkable lightness and rigidity.     Our Six50, 29 ER and 29Lite rims are now making inroads into the modern Mountain Bike Market. Our co-operation with Tensile who make tremendous, high quality hubs, has now seen the introduction of some stunning wheel sets and this will continue to grow.
It is not our intention to deceive anyone into thinking we are the same company as the early Araya. If we had wanted to it would have been very easy to introduce a 7X or a 7C rim of which there are many imitations floating around in the Far East. We are a team of dedicated UK based cycle enthusiasts and we are building a new reputation for Araya, based on top quality products at top value, direct to the public, prices. You can purchase with confidence knowing that your product has received the greatest care in design, development, materials and production.
Thank you for reading this.
Michael Poyzer  BSc (Hons).
Owner of UK Registered Trade Mark, 2501035 0 - ARAYA and European Union Registered Trade Mark,008207219 - ARAYA. '

So someone spotted that Araya hadn't trademarked their name in Europe, put their own application in and then produced a bunch of products with what looks like the old logo on them.

Am I the only person on here that thinks those Pro - class rims look fookin great  :coolsmiley:

I just wonder if they'd take the punishment of over weight middle aged blokes landing badly in draughty skateparks on them........  :2funny:
Still limping......

They may have the name but they'll still be in trouble with the logo then - that will be under copyright.
